Merchandise ordered online that's being paid by cash, check or money order will only be held for two weeks.  If payment doesn't arrive within two weeks, the merchandise is returned to inventory and available for sale again.

Avalon Moon, Inc. reserves the right at any time to request a signature for online/ phone credit card orders, void or cancel any order deemed suspicious or fraudulent.  All suspicious/ fraudulent orders are investigated and, when necessary, reported to the proper authorities. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but our customer's security is of utmost importance.

Avalon Moon, Inc. accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, checks (there is a $20 fine for each check dishonored by the bank), & money orders as forms of payment for all orders originating from the U.S.A.
All payments must be made in U.S. funds payable to Avalon Moon, Inc..
If sending cash through the mail, be sure to wrap it securely in an additional sheet of paper. Loose coins will tear your envelope, please secure them with tape or bubble wrap.
Money orders are available at your local post office, bank, shopping centers, grocery stores and gasoline stations.  Some only charge a fee as small as 40 cents for a money order.

Since international money orders & checks cost the U.S. a minimum of $25 - $75 to process with additional fees incurred from the bank of origin, Avalon Moon, Inc. does not accept international money orders or international checks.  See the Avalon Moon

Time

The speed in which your order will be processed depends on how busy things get at the store (feel free to give us a call) & your choice of payment. Order processing time and shipping time are two different things. Delivery time does not include the time it takes for us to process an order. For example - 'Next Day Air' does not mean your package will arrive the day after you place your order. Time is needed for us to first process your order and then get it to the carrier's office. See below for details on order processing times. Call or email us for estimated shipping times.

To place an order with us through your computer, simply click on the 'Add To Cart' button located under any of the items you're interested in. You can view your shopping cart by clicking the 'View Cart' button at any time. Here you can review, add and/ or remove items from your cart. To continue shopping, use your browser's 'Back' button or click the 'Continue Shopping' button to return to the last page you were on. Once you've finished your shopping click the 'Check Out' button located under any of the items listed on the Avalon Moon website. The 'Check Out' button will bring you to the shopping cart where you can again review your selections and make changes.

The next step is to choose a shipping option. (To review the shipping options we offer, visit our 'Shipping' page.) Once you've decided on a shipping option and entered your discount code (if any) click 'Recalculate'.

Sales Tax
If your order is NOT being shipped to a NY address, do NOT select a sales tax.
If your order is being shipped to a county within NY state: be sure to select the proper sales tax rate.
If you do not select a sales tax and your order is being shipped to a NY address: the highest rate is selected automatically.
If you select a lower tax than you're supposed to
: we'll probably cancel your order and you'll have to resubmit it. We apologize for this inconvenience, but NY state requires we collect sales tax for them. If we don't collect it, we loose out - not to mention go to jail. After weighing the options, we'd rather cancel the order than go to jail, sorry.
If you're not sure what the sales tax rate is for the county your order is being shipped to:

  *or visit NY's Sales Tax Rate Lookup web page at: http://www7.nystax.gov/STLR/stlrHome. Just enter the street address & zip code and the site will give you the county name and current tax rate.

If you're paying by check, money order or cash you're order will be processed after your payment arrives at Avalon Moon (see 'Order Processing' above). On a rare occasion, the shopping cart page may end in a time out or error due to a slow connection speed, downed server, etc. If this happens please contact us instead of going back & clicking "Submit" again. We may have already received your order and by clicking the submit button a second time could result in a duplicate charge to your credit card account.

How do you know a page is secure? There's a few ways to tell...
  *On the page where you enter your credit card information, your web browser's address bar may show the page address to start with "https" the "s" indicates a secure page. 
  *There may be a padlock or a lock & key symbol in the lower right corner on your status bar.
To truly verify if a page is secure:
Right-click anywhere on the page and select 'Properties'. The 'URL Address' listed on the 'General' tab will tell you if you are viewing a secure page by listing it as 'https'. In the same window, you can also view the certificate for a secure page by clicking 'Certificates'. Our Secure Certificate is with CoolCart.com, shopping cart company we use. By printing the order form before you start shopping, you can write down desired items while browsing through the our site. If, for whatever reason you cannot print our order form, simply write your selections on a sheet of paper. Include all the information requested on our 'Mail-in Order Form'. Once you're finished, simply subtotal the amounts, choose a shipping option, add your local sales tax percentage only if you're shipping to a New York state residence, and then total your order. Finally, choose your payment preference of Visa, MasterCard, American Express, check, money order, or cash.  If you're using a credit card, include the card number, expiration date, and signature. If paying by cash, check or money order, don't forget to enclose your payment (made payable to Avalon Moon, Inc.) with your order form. The Mail-in Order Form with payment can then be mailed to us at:

Avalon Moon no longer prints a paper catalog. "Why?" you may ask...  Simple really. Take a deep breath. We're saving trees - our friends in Nature that make it a thoughtless effort for us to breathe. 
Since we stopped printing our paper catalog in 2004 we've reduced our paper consumption by not just reams but cases. Did you know that it takes approximately 24 trees to make 40 cases of paper?
Since we have new items arriving pretty much weekly, we felt it was in the best interest of our Mother Earth to retire a continuously outdated, paper-consuming catalog.
We ask that you help us keep our sacred Earth green by browsing our website or store instead. All our merchandise is available at our retail location (and much is available through our website). If you can't find what you're searching for just ask us! Whether we can give you a detailed description on the phone or email a photo or two of what you're looking for - we're happy to help. No pressure. No obligations. Just fun... because we love what we do

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Avalon Moon recycles and uses recycled materials whenever possible in our store, office and shipping area. This includes copier paper, note paper, cartons, packing materials, etc.
Avalon Moon also partakes in conserving energy:
  ~ In the winter we use thermostats with timers to keep the temperature while we're in the store about 65° - 67°F. This gives us an excuse to wear those snuggly sweaters we love so much. The temperature is then set much lower when we're not in the store.
~ In the Summer we dim the lights and use fans instead of air conditioning. Summer is supposed to be hot, and snowy weather will be back soon enough. We enjoy the diversity of the seasons

~ Our computers are turned off when they're not being used.
~ Lights are off in unoccupied areas.
~ Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) are installed wherever possible (15 vs. 60 watts per bulb!).
~ We always use 100% post-consumer recycled paper.
~ We carpool to get to and from work.
~ We walk to the Post Office with your packages instead of driving.

Avalon Moon, Inc. is a retail-only company and does not sell wholesale.  If you are interested in purchasing ten or more of any one item, we do offer a quantity discount.  Quantity Discounts:

Out of Stock Items & Back Orders

If an item becomes temporarily unavailable, a note will be placed on the invoice in with the description of the item saying that it's temporarily out of stock and what date we expect it to arrive back in stock. Out of stock items are still available for ordering. As soon as that item comes in, we will ship it. Here's how it works...

If a temporarily out of stock item is expected to return to stock within 5 - 7 business days from when your order is placed, your order will be shipped complete as soon as that item arrives.

Back Orders

Any ordered item that's temporarily out of stock and not expected within 5 - 7 business days, will be considered a back order and you will receive a notice on your invoice.  The rest of your order will be shipped within the normal shipping time as mentioned on the 'Shipping' & 'Ordering' pages. Your invoice will include the expected arrival date for the temporarily out of stock item and you will have the option of replacing or canceling the back ordered item from your order.

No Longer
Available

If you order an item and it's no longer available, we will contact you to see if you would prefer an alternate item or a refund for the amount of the original item. Although the occurrence is rare for an item to be listed on the site that is no longer available, this would most likely occur on an item that is shown to be limited to one or two in quantity. If you like, you're welcome to give us a call (toll-free 866-747-7389) to be sure a particular item is available before ordering.

How To Make
a Return

Customers Should Be Happy! If something is wrong with your order, we really do want to know about it and we'll do all we can to correct it. So don't worry about feeling angry or a need to be harsh when contacting us (that's unhealthy and we don't want you to feel that way). We're happy and we're here to help, offering friendly service to ALL our customers!:) So, if for any reason, you're not satisfied with a portion of your purchase, please give us a call so we can make things better!  1(607)746-7389 or toll-free at 1(866)747-7389.
Return shipping instructions will be given when you call Avalon Moon.
1.  Call Avalon Moon within 7 days of receipt of parcel.  1(607)746-7389 or toll-free 1(866)747-7389.
2.  A copy of invoice and a note describing return or exchange must be included with the return as you mentioned in phone call.
3.  The customer is responsible for all return shipping fees which will include but may not be limited to postage, insurance, and proof of signature at destination. (If we ship the wrong item, we pay these fees. So far we've shipped the wrong item only once in 8 years!)
4.  Returned items must be received unused, undamaged, and in original saleable condition for a refund, store credit or exchange to be applied.  
5.  If there's damage to parcel at time of delivery, the carrier must verify this in writing. The damaged carton and all packaging materials must be saved in order for an insurance claim to be filed with US Mail or UPS.

Important notice regarding undeliverable, refused parcels, & unwanted merchandise: 
You will be notified if a parcel is returned to us and the reason why.
* If the return is Avalon Moon's fault (incorrect address, wrong item, etc.) we will reship the parcel free of charge.
* If the return is the customer's fault (incorrect address, unclaimed after attempted delivery) we can reship the parcel but shipping fees will apply.
* If the return is the customer's fault (refused upon delivery, unclaimed after attempted delivery and no reply from the customer, merchandise returned unwanted because the customer changed their mind) we will refund the customer's purchasing credit card minus original shipping costs and minus a 15% restocking fee based on the total cost of the merchandise.
          * Shipping fees are not refundable because a third-party service was provided to get the parcel to its destination.
          * The restocking fee covers our cost for handling the return including, among other things, credit card refund service fees. Again, this restocking fee is only incurred if the return is the customer's fault.
Keep in mind, when a company doesn't have a restocking fee you can rest assured you're paying for wanton returns through higher priced merchandise. We don't do that. Our restocking fee helps us to keep our prices as low as possible instead of the potential fee being calculated into the cost of all merchandise in case of a potential return.
